If you like shows, music and stuff, then you'll love it. It was OK - we tried it once and our 7-year old loved it. We visited the evening entertainment once. The place is locked down after 11pm and security staff patrol the site - so you feel quite safe. Thankfully, the security staff on site at night are vigilant and would soon shut them up. In fact the youngsters were more of a nuisance than the entertainment.
There is noise in the evening but it switches off by 11pm. You will need pegs for sand - so make sure you pack them. We then had sun all day, no mosquitos and we began to enjoy the holiday - it was a glorious pitch! The site is windy (which is what you would expect camped next to the Atlantic) but it's no problem and we even managed to keep everything pegged down during the tail of the hurricane that blasted through. A few days in, after speaking with the manager, we got a more sympathetic response to the fact we had been eaten alive, were completely fed up and ready to leave she kindly moved us to a pitch nearer the dunes. We were camped in the wooded area at the back of the site, with an hour of sunlight a day and the mosquitos were rampant.
We asked several times to be moved, but initially, we were told the site was full (and indeed it was busy). When we arrived, we were not given the pitches next to our friends that we asked for. English-speaking staff were really helpful on the phone. This site looks great online and the booking process was really easy and the staff responded to our booking and additional requests very quickly. its very noisy at night if its windy a seth canvas moves around a lot - again we got used to it and found it comforting but if you are a light sleeper a more solid building is probably more for you! overall we had a lovely time, lots of fresh air, kids made friends, me time for adults by utilising kids club occasionally and at least 10 hours sleep a night. you get quite thorough inspection at end to make sure you have cleaned it properly but as its such as easy unit to keep clean it snot really a problem. wi fi for the week is 20euros (i was kind of hoping it would be free!) and i did get hacked whilst on it so security may not be 100%. On site shop is good but there is a U Super in the village where you can get everything. we walked into the village a couple of nights (10 minutes) and had great moules and frites and pizza at La Mano Negra.
we put the kids into kids club a couple of afternoons which was free and very much enjoyed by a 6 and 8 year old. We were very near the bar and whilst we did not go to the entertainment at night the noise did not bother us, we knew it would end and it was nice to know someone, somewhere, was having fun (we were too but more the wine and peanuts watching iPad kind!).
pools were great and the entertainment team were, well, entertaining - the kids LOVED them. Everything kept very basic but that was good as minimal means its kept clean and really all you need is a good shower (ours was great, loads of VERY hot water!) and ability to boil water for tea and cake kids pasta. Just visited and stayed in Skipper 6p lodge. you get quite thorough inspection at end to make sure you have cleaned it properly but.
